The Telluride Elementary Staff is excited about expanding the integration of technology into the instructional program to improve student learning for the 21st century. A technology curriculum is currently being developed that will emphasize language arts, science, social studies and mathematics. A total of 80 Macintosh computers can be found throughout the school, including 23 new DV iMacs for the tech lab. All computers within the district are on a T-1 line.
Primary students are exposed to a wide variety of software applications in core subject areas as well as a focus on keyboarding with an emphasis in key identification. We also offer book marked sites according to appropriate level and subject area. The Intermediate grades focus on current event internet research, multimedia projects and word processing with an emphasis on the home row keys. We also have book marked student oriented search engines such as Yahooligans, Ask Jeeves for Kids and Searchopolis with opportunities to explore with supervision.
